Financial Literacy For Individual Learners

While our primary focus is institutional education, we understand that some young Ghanaians seek financial literacy knowledge independently. We offer limited individual and small group sessions for recent graduates and young professionals who did not receive this education through their schools.

Individual Learning Sessions

Individual sessions provide personalized financial literacy education tailored to your specific situation. Whether you just started your first formal job, received your first payslip and felt confused, or face a major financial decision without understanding the implications, these sessions address your actual circumstances.

We cover the same core topics as our institutional programmes — banking systems, payslip interpretation, SSNIT contributions, interest rate mathematics, hire-purchase evaluation, and practical budgeting. The difference is that we apply these concepts directly to your personal financial context.

  • Understanding your specific payslip and employment deductions
  • Evaluating actual financial products or agreements you're considering
  • Creating a realistic budget based on your actual income and expenses
  • Calculating the true cost of specific purchase or borrowing options
  • Planning for irregular income patterns in your work situation

Small Group Workshops

Small group workshops bring together young professionals facing similar financial literacy needs. Groups typically consist of recent graduates from the same industry, young entrepreneurs starting businesses, or colleagues from the same organization seeking to better understand their compensation and benefits.

Group sessions create opportunities for peer learning and discussion. Participants benefit from hearing how others approach similar financial decisions and from collective problem-solving when working through scenarios.

  • Groups of 5-8 participants with similar learning needs
  • Interactive format with group exercises and discussions
  • Focused on practical application to real situations
  • Peer learning alongside expert guidance
  • Flexible scheduling to accommodate working professionals

What Individual Sessions Cover

Focused financial literacy education addressing the specific topics you need

Your First Payslip

Line-by-line explanation of your actual payslip. Understanding gross versus net salary, identifying each deduction, verifying calculations, and knowing what to expect in future pay periods. Bringing your real payslip makes this session immediately practical.

Evaluating Financial Decisions

When you face a specific financial decision — signing a hire-purchase agreement, taking a loan, choosing between payment options — we work through the mathematics together. You leave understanding the true cost and able to make an informed choice.

Building Your Budget

Creating a realistic budget requires understanding your actual income patterns and expenses. We build a budget together based on your real financial situation, not theoretical examples. This includes strategies for irregular income if that applies to your work.

Banking Basics

If you're opening your first bank account or trying to understand how banking works in Ghana, this session covers account types, charges, mobile money integration, and how to manage your banking relationship effectively.
